Reframe: A new programme for Parishes running this Lent

Reframe is a series of talks for parishes, named after the Catholic Voices method of ‘reframing’ which sees in the midst of controversy and criticism a unique opportunity to share the story of the Church. In order to do this well, we need to be willing to put in the intellectual legwork, we need to get briefed. The Lenten series of Reframe talks provides a perfect opportunity to learn the method of reframing through a talk given by a trained Catholic Voice. Each week, participants will have the chance to consider and discuss a topic chosen by their parish and together hone the civil communication skills we need to dialogue with secular society.

When Catholic Voices was set up in 2010 for the Papal visit, we trained a number of young, articulate, professional Catholics to appear in the media. The success of Catholic Voices during the visit highlighted the need to provide tools to help Catholics confidently and compassionately share the story of the Church. Of course, most Catholics will not be called upon to appear on TV or radio, but more likely need to respond to questions in the pub, at work or with family and friends.

This is your chance to learn the skills to answer those questions with compassion and understanding.
