CV Peru receives first training
Pope Francis’s exhortation on married love and controversies over the Church’s involvement in Peru’s presidential elections were the interview topics in last weekend’s inaugural training for the recently formed Catholic Voices Peru.
Dr Austen Ivereigh led the training for the 17-strong group, assisted by CV Peru’s coordinator, Rodrigo Chávarri. The “as-live” interviews were carried out by two local journalists, one of whom is a reporter for the Peruvian weekly magazine Caretas.
The superb facilities — a team of technicians and producers, two TV cameras in a studio with the Catholic Voices logo as a backdrop — were provided by the University of San Martín de Porres.
The Peru group is the 20th CV team in the world, and the 7th in Latin America. Catholic Voices is now present all the way down the Andes: Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina.
