CV Italia joins Vatican conference with Pope Francis
Martina Pastorelli, director of Catholic Voices Italia, was invited last week to moderate a panel at a key Vatican symposium celebrating 10 years since Pope Benedict’s landmark encyclical Caritas in Veritate.
The 25-26 February event, organized by the Vatican’s charity council, Cor Unum, was part of the programme of events celebrating the Jubilee of Mercy. Its aim was to help apply the insights of the Encyclical for today’s world, especially to the Church’s service of charity.
Participants included Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller, Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle, Archbishop of Manila and President of Caritas Internationalis, as well as distinguished academics and leaders of other faiths.
On Friday, the conference participants had a private audience with Pope Francis in a room off the Paulo VI auditorium, where Martina Pastorelli spoke to Pope Francis.
Catholic Voices Italia will be holding three trainings in Italy over the next months.
